Vegas Bound
So my March to $10,000 challenge is complete, and I fell quite short, finishing up $6,216 in the black. While I didn’t meet my goal, I still feel very great with my results and the way I’ve been playing lately. For one, I didn’t play at all 7 out of the 28 days of the challenge, whether it was because I wasn’t in the mood to play or because I was in Memphis. And out of the...
Quickish Update
I’m almost 2 weeks into my March to $10,000 challenge and things have been going pretty well, even though I haven’t been playing as many hands as I’d like. I’m up about $3600 (including rake back, bbj $, etc.) after 16.4k hands. This is obviously a bit below pace, but at least I’ve been winning when I have been playing. 9 out of the 11 days that I’ve played have...
March to $10,000
Dusty Schmidt (leatherass9 on pokerstars, writer of Treat Your Poker Like a Business) made a recent post in his blog (http://www.dustyschmidt.net/2010/04/) that he was setting a goal to make $100,000 from anything poker-related before heading out to Vegas at the end of May. I’ve decided to do the same but, being as busto as I am, I’m setting my goal at $10,000. I started on the 27th of...

Moving On Up
So I’ve been in Evanston for a few days now, and I must say things have been going really well. I felt as if I had been playing really well lately, day in and day out, so I took a shot at 400nl. That went really well, and 2 days ago I had my best day without a tourney score:
Almost all of it was 400nl, and it was about 9 hours of playing. Very nice. Then I didn’t play poker at all...

Journey to the Midwest
Flying out to Chicago tomorrow for the WSOP Circuit in Hammond, IN, and will be participating in my alma matter’s homecoming festivities during my stay as well. Gonna be staying at my friend’s place near campus, and I’m gonna be playing a few of the circuit events (Hammond is about a 45-minute drive from Evanston, and I’ll be renting a car so I’ll be at the Horseshoe...

Keep on Keepin' on
Ended October with a bang…decided to play some donkaments one day and shipped 2nd in a Stars $33+R and got 4th in a $22 deep stack (as if that’s even worth mentioning), for a total of about $4k that day.
Ended the month up about $16.5k total with rake back and everything. Here’s my cash graph:
Then to start off October, I lost around $2800 or so at 200nl and a bit of nlo8....

A Reevaluation
Played a bit more of 400nl this past week, but I think I was playing too many tables at once or playing too long of sessions or something, because I just felt like I was on autopilot mode all the time. My autopilot game isn’t anywhere near my A-game, so this resulted in a little bit of losing.
So the first thing I’m deciding to do is decrease the amount of tables that I’m...
Don't Call it a Comeback
Took my first shot at 400nl since Vegas and, after an epic battle, showed some profit:
The games were good for the 12 hours that I was playing (7 pm - 7 am EST), which was nice. I felt I was a little off my game toward the beginning, but I was also running 6 BIs bad at one point, so that didn’t help my green line much. Then by the end of the session, the EV caught up and I was able...
Off to a Good Start
I finished off a 20k-hand 200nl stake to start off the month (was pretty busto at the time because of life expenses and some runbad/playbad), and since then I’ve been playing the best poker of my life. So September is off to a very good start, and I’m putting in more volume than ever. Here’s a graph after 8 days (~32k hands):
Of course I begin running bad immediately after...
