I finished off a 20k-hand 200nl stake to start off the month (was pretty busto at the time because of life expenses and some runbad/playbad), and since then I’ve been playing the best poker of my life. So September is off to a very good start, and I’m putting in more volume than ever. Here’s a graph after 8 days (~32k hands):

Of course I begin running bad immediately after the stake is over, but I can’t complain too much. I also have another ~$1k or so in rakeback that’s hitting my FTP account on Friday. At the moment I have a bit over $6k online, and I think I’m gonna play 200nl until I have about $10k or so, withdraw all but $8k (for some expenses, pay of credit cards, etc.) and then move up to 400nl, hopefully for good this time.
I’m working on making a few gameplay videos using Camtasia, but I’m having a bit of a trouble with rendering them to a reasonable file size, but I could possibly integrate those into the blog somehow once that’s finished.
Some goals for the month:
- 100k hands
- $20k (one time?)
- move up to 400nl finally, fuck
I’m probably gonna play a few Mini FTOPS tournaments, including the $266 ME, using my full tilt points (I have like 215k right now) because there’s nothing too worthwhile in the store and I can use them instead of taking money from my roll. It’d be nice to ship a tournament for once, so we’ll see how that goes.
I’m also thinking of going back to Evanston for a week or two next month to visit friends that are still in Chicago and to play in the WSOP Circuit event series at the Horseshoe in Hammond, IN (just outside of Chicago, about a 45-minute drive from Evanston). There are a bunch of events, and I’m not sure how many I’d play necessarily, but it’d also be nice to play the side games as I’m sure they’re gonna be even softer than they normally are. If I make $20k this month like I’m hoping, I’ll be able to comfortably play 5/10 and play my solid, aggressive game.
Also going to head back to Vegas in November for a week or two to hopefully catch the final table of the WSOP ME and to play a bunch of live cash. So if you were thinking of playing 5/10 at Belaggio or Wynn during that period, consider making other plans, because I will run you off the streets.
I’ve got a lot of shit to worry about soon, but for right now, I just gotta make sure I keep playing well online and continue putting in lots of hands. And oh yeah, pictures of my newish apartment (moved in a month ago) will be here soon.
